Description
As part of the Libyan Academy's tireless efforts to contribute to the transmission of various scientific disciplines and to keep up with the latest in order to develop and use available resources and train human cadres, which is the most important element in the development and preparation for local and international competition by ensuring the requirements and tools of success needed for the accelerated renaissance that Libya has witnessed in various fields, especially in the field of construction, infrastructure projects, housing, roads and services Public and other public and private sectors on international scientific bases, From this point of view, the Department of Engineering Project Management Sciences was established and subsequently a construction project management division was established to award a master's degree in management in this specialization. Where a founding committee was formed to prepare a study for the establishment of an Engineering Project Management Department at the Academy, the committee submitted its report to the Director General of the Academy earlier on 15/07/2002. In light of the acceptance of this report, the department was established as the first engineering department at the Academy. The first batch of students was admitted in the fall semester of 2002M, the Founding Committee was appointed as its first scientific council by the decision of the former director general of the academy No. (20) For the year 2003 The functions and powers of the council are defined as follows:-
- Strategic planning of the department and development of mechanisms for the implementation of plans.
- Adaptation of Engineering Management Sciences in accordance with development plans in the State of Libya.
- Designing internal and organizational regulations of the department.
- Developing cooperation and training plans with institutions inside and outside Libya.
Vision
The department should distinguish itself locally and internationally through teaching, research and development of the relationship with other engineering disciplines.
Message
The department strives to prepare specialized competences and skills in all areas of engineering project management by following a creative approach in education, which depends on training the student in the method of scientific thinking and analysis and acquiring self-learning skills that will help him in the use of engineering management tools.
Goals
1. Eligibility of students to obtain a high degree leave (Master's) in engineering project management for various engineering disciplines.
2. The program aims to bring fundamental changes in engineering management methods and comprehensive development of research methods in cooperation with various industrial institutions by organizing seminars and training programs to achieve sub-objectives, the most important of which are:
• Qualification of engineers for anticipating leadership positions in the management of various engineering projects.
• Contribute to the development of engineering capabilities in relation to project management in Libya through continuing education programmes.
• Exchange of experience and information with relevant authorities in Libya and outside 3
3. To meet Libya's need for more precise specializations within engineering management by opening specialized divisions within the department, which the department has recently done, where with the support of the school of applied sciences and engineering at the academy, a construction project management division was established in the fall of 2007 to meet the requirements of an accelerated the renaissance in the field of construction in the field of housing projects, roads, public service projects and others that the state of Libya is witnessing at this stage is the first of these requirements to ensure and prepare capable and qualified human cadres for the implementation of these construction projects on a proper practical basis and there is an ambition with other departments of the Academy, e.g.:
• Industrial Management Division.
• Quality Management Division.
